What is Chavayah?Chavayah is Beth Emet's brand new experience based teen education program for 9th 10th and 11th graders. Chavayah takes learning out of classroom and allows you to put your Jewish values into practice. Chavayah’s core curriculum is based around monthly field studies that will allow to learn about current events and community issues through a Jewish lens. You will then be able to actually take what you’ve learned and go out into the world and make a difference through direct service, political advocacy, and philanthropy. Additionally Chavayah will offer you elective workshops that will allow you to explore Judaism using your preferred style or styles of learning. We will be offering classes that approach Jewish text using film, cooking, skiing, visual art, theater, dance, backpacking, creative writing, and your own trials and tribulations with relationships, love, and peer pressure. Lastly for those of you who are a little bit more traditional in your style of learning we will be offering monthly Torah study with Rabbi London and Aaron Gunning. If you are curious about this revolutionary program then please check out our FAQ now available on-line. Chavayah will kick-off September 7, 2008!!!
