Cantor Arik Y. Luck Cantor
Arik Luck joined Beth Emet in July, 2009 after receiving his masters of sacred
music and cantorial investiture from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of
Religion (HUC-JIR) in New York City. While at HUC-JIR, Cantor Luck was the
recipient of the Israel Goldstein Award, the award given to a student who
demonstrates the highest degree of fluency in traditional worship music. He
brings expertise in both Reform and traditional worship styles, as well as in
piano, guitar, percussion, theatre directing, and production.Cantor Luck received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama in acting and musical theatre. His love for Judaism, teaching and signing prompted his application to cantorial school. While still in school, Cantor Luck gained a wealth of cantorial experience, including serving as part-time cantorial presence at Temple Beth Shalom in Arnold, MD, and leading a variety of services at North Shore Congregation Israel in Glencoe, IL.
