Rabbi Andrea C. London Rabbi London joined Beth Emet in July
2000, becoming deeply engaged in all aspects of congregational life. Ordained by
the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in New York City
in 1996, she served as a rabbi at Temple Israel in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Before entering rabbinical school, she received a degree in applied mathematics
from Brown University and worked as a computer analyst and management
consultant. Rabbi London helps members prepare for life-cycle events, offers counseling and support, teaches, and supervises youth group activities. She has worked to strengthen ties between Chicago-area Jews, Christians, and Muslims, and founded an interfaith dialogue group. She also has participated in the Spirituality Institute, and has initiated several spirituality programs at Beth Emet, including the yoga minyan – a fully embodied prayer experience. Rabbi London is a board member of Interfaith Youth Core. She also co-chairs the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs Jewish-Muslim Community Building Initiative.
Rabbi London is married to Danny London and has two children, Yonah and Liora. |
