United Power for Action and Justice

As part of our continuing effort to ally ourselves with others in working for social justice, the Beth Emet Social Action Committee has joined United Power for Action and Justice.

The purpose of United Power for Action and Justice is to create a broad-based organization whose goal is to build relational power for collective action in the name of justice and the common good. United Power is an organization of other organizations weaving together city and suburbs. United Power is inclusive, embracing the full diversity of metropolitan Chicago. As part of civil society, United Power is non-partisan: moderates, conservatives, liberals and radicals committed to acting on its social values and working for a just society by standing for the whole. United Power is generational: originating, not just reacting, and sustaining as a legacy for the future its dedication to fostering public life.

Our subcommittee at BethEmet is involved with considering issues of present and future concern to UPAJ as a whole, and to developing support for those issues when they are formulated.

For more information, or to participate in our subcommittee's deliberations, contact Marilyn Justman.
