Adult StudiesEducation is a lifelong process and Beth Emet is committed to education for adults. Each year we offer both year-long and short courses. Classes are held in the morning and evening and are taught by the Rabbis, Cantor, Director of Education, other experienced Jewish professionals and lay people from our own congregation and the larger Jewish community. A wide selection of courses, covering contemporary and ancient topics, religious and cultural, are offered throughout the week. Adult Studies brochures are sent to congregants two times during the year and the Class Schedule is posted online. Check out our Adult Education course catalogue on line to see the class offerings for the Spring Semester. You can also register for classes online. For more information, call Mayta Spitz at ext 306 or send her an e-mail. Sunday Text Study: Rabbi Knobel teaches a variety of texts throughout the year. Year-long courses on Hebrew Courses (from beginning Hebrew to advanced prayerbook Hebrew) start in the fall and continue through the year on Thursday evenings. We offer a two-year course for adults who wish to become Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Courses are modified each year to meet the varied interests and needs of the congregants. A variety of additional study opportunities are held throughout the year. Details appear in the Synagogue Bulletin and in the online calendar. |
