Proverbs, 1999-2000 The sixth grade curriculum is a survey of Tanach - the Bible. Students have their own Tanach and it serves as the basis of study all year. Our students recently studied Proverbs. They worked at understanding Proverbs and illustrating them to express their meaning. Finally students were asked to write their own proverbs. Their proverbs were to be on the themes of love, criticism or friendship. ~~~~~~~~~~ If you are unloyal to your friends and give away their confidence, your disloyalty will come right back to you when they betray you. -JN If you are a snowboarder and you want to take the chance of doing a method while doing a back flip, bring a first-aid kit. -RM When you insult someone it is like throwing a bouncy ball at a wall of stone. It just bounces off. -MC While swimming- Taking a breath is not only to get air, it is to rejuvenate the soul. While playing soccer (or any other sport)- Winning is falf the joy of the game, the other half is playing and enjoying. Playing sports- Having the victory of winning is equal to losing with respect. -LT Spit out what bad tastes you get. -CD When receiving criticism, do not let it hurt you. -SS If you are nice to your school, it will be the same for you. -SK Every good friend receives a good friend back. -SF Be loyal to your friends or they won’t be your friends. -MR Enjoy your play and be happy. If someone is your friend then they cherish you. So you should cherish them. -AS If you love someone you will never be lonely. -A Criticism is just words passed through your ears. Love lives on in your heart. -S A smile is the most precious thing A frown is a spoiled egg Love is hope Hate is horrible. Love is a helping hand. A helping hand is a friend. A friend is some one to lean on Which comes back to love. -BF The love of the Lord can help you in life- For wisdom, for love and not for hate. -AF Loyal friends are always there for you. -M Don’t follow blind faith. -Anon. Once friends become different people it is a sign to look within yourself and see what you need to change. -Anon. Friends - or are they? Do you really know? Do they care or do they put you through the depths of hell! Why do they point? Do they laugh behind your back? Will you ever know? -RF Criticism. When someone criticizes me I am sad; when I criticize someone I feel good but know the other person is sad. So you don’t criticize! -S Loyalty to your friends. Don’t treat your friends badly or they will make friends with you worst enemies. -M One to rule them all One to find them One to bring them all And in the darkness bind them. Who can conquer the One? He who studies. He who knows true wisdom. -NW Treat fellow people with respect and always be fair and true. Then when you have grown they may help you in turn to do what you want to do. -AR |
