Mitzvah Appeal 2011

MA_TreeBeth Emet congregants U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky and State Representative Robyn Gabel headlined a thought provoking (and delicious) Mitzvah Appeal brunch last Sunday. Summing up the mission of the campaign, Representative Schakowsky reminded the more than 100 members in attendance that doing Tzedakah is a requirement for all Jews. "Tzedakah means justice," Representative Schakowsky said. "While we are allowed to feel good about doing justice, we must not lose sight of the fact that it is not optional. It is something we are obligated to do." The Mitzvah Appeal Committee would like to thank all of the members listed here who have 'done justice' by giving time and money to the Appeal thus far.

While last Sunday's Bagels, Lox and Leaders brunch was the last formal 2011 Mitzvah Appeal event, it is not too late to give. We're a long way from both our financial goal of $215,000 and our 100% participation goal. Please give today. To make a donation, please contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
