Ner Tamid / Simferopol

SimferopolSupport our Sister Congregation, Ner Tamid, in Simferopol, Ukraine

In August 2001 an 18 member delegation of Beth Emet members led by Rabbi Peter and Elaine Knobel traveled to Simferopol, Crimea, in Ukraine to present a Torah scroll as a gift to Congregation Ner Tamid, a newly restored Progressive synagogue in the former Soviet Union in need of a Torah for worship and study. We continue to maintain ties with Congregation Ner Tamid. Beth Emet members and clergy have returned several times, helping to forge the bonds between our two congregations. Take a look at Congregation Ner Tamid through the eyes of Rabbi Misha Kapustin and Simferopol community members.
