Caring Bridges Kabbalat Shabbat Friday, February 22 at 6:30 p.m.
For close to 40 years, Ozerim volunteers have been building bridges and strengthening connections with Beth Emet congregants in their times of need, actively demonstrating what a caring community we are blessed with here at Beth Emet. Thanks to volunteers, our congregation has been able to prepare and deliver hundreds of meals, provide countless rides to medical appointments and synagogue events, lead shiva minyans, deliver Mishloach Manot for Purim and offer comfort and support in numerous other ways. In recognition of volunteers generosity of time and spirit, we invite everyone a Caring Bridges Shabbat service. We look forward to seeing you there!
Ozerim, Beth Emet's volunteer corps of "helpers," builds bridges between members and supports congregants in a variety of ways. These include:
- Cooking and delivering a Shabbat Connection meal every Friday, Recipients may be new parents, those in mourning, living with illness or moving into a new home.
- Providing rides to medical appointments, worship services and synagogue functions.
- Leading shiva minyans.
- Helping Beit Sefer students build cross-generational bridges by delivering Purim baskets to congregants.
We always welcome new volunteers. The time commitment is small, but the opportunity to share he gift of community is large. We especially need cooks and drivers, and volunteers willing to be trained to lead shiva minyans. If you would like to help or learn more, please contact
